Grand Reunion Updates #5

Boys, we are another week closer to the Big Day ! The countdown shows only 14 more days! That's only 336 hours! Or 20,160 minutes! Or 1,209,600 seconds!

Let's see what our trusty NST frontpage says today (9 Dec 1976)...

Hmmm ... Problems between Vietnam and Thailand brewing ...  Malaysia's PM was Hussein Onn, with Mahathir as Deputy PM ... Exxon and Petronas still in the news ... And the stylish among us write with Waterman pens, clean our faces with pHisoDerm and wear Bata shoes :-)

Updates

Today I'm going to reveal a bit more about our Lucky Draw prizes. While we haven't quite ordered the prizes in terms of value and indicated them as #1 ,#2, #3, etc, it is most likely that the top prizes will include:

* Return Air Asia tickets KL-London-KL for Two
(See the Big Ben, Westminster, Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Sq, etc)
with free 1 week stay for two persons at apartment provided (thanks Dato' Anthony!)

Cisco MinoHD Flip pocket camcorder    (http://www.theflip.com/)
(Take HD quality video & easily share with friends & family)

Three One-Year Subscriptions to The Borneo Post
    (applicable only for Sarawak residents)

Complementary (2 days, 1 night) stay at Merdeka Palace

*  1 Dinner Voucher for 2 persons at Merdeka Palace

Gift Hampers

We will have other surprises before the day arrives. Stay tuned !

  5. Wah such good prizes available. Mr Clarence will confirm that the probability of winning the ticket to London is 1/68 (better odds than ban jee pio) and to win the siem reap ticket as well, the probability is 1/68 x 1/68. Well, Mr Clarence, I did pay attention in class rather than dreaming about the beauties from across the road. Unlike WJ who not only dreamed but actually captured one. LOL LOL.

  16. WJ,3rd prize should read 'Free-one-year subscription to the Borneo Post' I think, instead of 'Three-one-year'

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hi Norbert - i think it's correct. We actually have THREE free subscriptions to Borneo Post (each of 1 year duration). So three lucky persons can win.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry WJ sir, now I know. Three prizes of 'a year's newspaper for free' so three lucky persons can win. A very very lucky person can win the three prizes or not?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ya loh ... three subscriptions to be read one in the morning, one for lunch & one for dinner. LOL

  20. I've been asked to urge you guys to bring your duty free spirits and wine as we only provide beers for the nite.

Furthermore, Merdeka Palace will NOT charge us corkage on spirits (brandy, whiskey, bourbon, etc etc ) and wine, but they WILL charge for beer corkage. Beer will be provided.

So if each guy who drinks can bring 1 or 2 bottles, we will all have a rolling good time. Hic.

  21. If I comimg, it will be with 3 bottles of either brandy, whiskey or wine OR any combination of them. How's that?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anyone interested in Vodka? I think can bring 1 or 2 bottles beside brandy, whisky and red wine. Those who can't drink better get some training 1st, if you think of joining us for the drinking sessions, hehe.

  23. What if some of the guys got drunk and can't drive themselves home, any rooms for them to spend the night at the hotel? No female companion nevermind, must have room, sleep on floor also OK.
