Through the Looking Glass (or at least Across the Bridge)

In response to occasional questions like "do you know what happpened to that pretty lass named ........ ?" and suggestions that this website may be missing the other half of the Form 5 (1976) story, I've created this post precisely to extend our conversation in this direction.

Feel free to ask your questions and share your knowledge. Perhaps through your comments here, we could find out more about some of our fair "sisters" from St Teresa's (or St Bernadette's or St Mary's or other girl schools further afield ....) . Only rule boys - please keep it gentlemanly :-)

Maybe someone could even pass the word to some of our lady friends from the 70's about the existence of this website, and some might drop us a line :-)

p/s: Trust some of you still remember the origin of that reference to "The Looking Glass".

  1. Cheng Yi is now a successful lawyer with her own firm [Cheng & Associates] in Kuching. She's also active in SUPP Women. Those who were swimmers would know her hubby, Chan Hoe Tee.

  2. Isn't "Looking Glass" the name of the St Teresa magazine? Like our "Ad Astra".

  3. Yeah, good guess. Now how about some of you contributing and letting us know where all our 'old' girlfriends are and what they are doing now?

  4. Hi from Melbourne, Australia. My brother (George Lo) sent me this blog and I found your site very interesting. Am wondering too what's happened to my old classmates and friends from '77 in St Teresa's. I return to Kuching every year to see my folks and it'd be good to catch up with old friends.

  5. I was just about to ask what happened to the lovely Lo sisters !!!! Can't believe who the last comment was from. Real or not? Is someone playing the joke here?

  6. Better believe it, Anonymous. With the fairer sex beginning to visit, I can bet you the website hit rate is going to rise, not to mention the blood pressures of some :-)

Welcome Judy. It's been a long time.

  7. Thanks for the 'lovely' bit, Anonymous.

Judy is in Melbourne, married to an ang mo with 2 boys, Matthew and Nicholas. She's a lawyer with the Justice Department.

Betty is also in Melbourne married to Leo Ricketts [from Kuching - as in the Ricketts estate] and she has a daughter. She's with the Australian Taxation Office.

My elder sis, Grace, is in the USA and married to Ben Wong's brother George. They have a girl and a boy.

I have informed all my sisters of this site and presume that they will be logging on now and then.

The Teresians from '75 [Grace's year], '77 [Judy's] and '78 [Betty's] can write in and use this website to get in touch with each other [and with the boys of '76]. Like James Yong says, we're older, wiser, but we all retain a bit of our boyish good looks ... LOL.

I meet Anne Kung [Betty's classmate] regularly as we are both on the committee of Lodge School.

I met Christina Foo a couple of years ago on my dad's 80th birthday. As lovely as ever but I don't know where she is now - jetsetting around, I think.

Jennifer King is in UK practising as a lawyer.

Bettie Leong [Alfred Wong's wife] tells me she checks on this site now and then. So, people, go and spread the word. And contribute some info on who is where.

    George Lo.

  8. Thanks for the updates, George. I know there's weeping and gnashing of teeth in some quarters, but that's life boys! You should have made your move 30 years ago.
