Other Memorable Movies of 1975 or 1976

For many of us, movies were a significant part of our lives back then. English movies, Chinese movies, even some Indian movies (and this was before the era of Bollywood!).

Many of us snuck off to Miramar or Cathay or Swee Hua or Capitol cinema for movie shows when we were supposed to be spending time at the library. Some may have had their first dates at the cinema.

What were some of the movies you associate with your Form 4 or Form 5 years? Share your top choices and any other movie-related experiences.

  9. I remember the original "Walking Tall" movie. I think it came out around the mid 70s. It starred Joe Don Baker. Anyone recall that? Anyway I thought it is so much better than the remake of 2000something starring "The Rock".

  10. I thought Lin Ching Hsia was the best. Had a crush on her for a decade! Watched all her movies - even the soppy ones!

Bought some of the old chinese sword fighting movies on dvd starring Yueh Hua and Lo Lieh. Somehow they are not as gripping as I remembered them when I was 15 ...

  13. Off-topic but speaking of classic Taiwanese movies, I used to think the teen/tween version of Philip C bears a distant resemblance to Chin Han (who was often paired with Bridgitte Lin Chin Hsia). Anyone else agree or think I need glasses? :)

Btw let explain my presence here. I'm a former Teresian, and Josephian (courtesy of Form 6 1991-2) and sister of said Chin Han lookalike. And... recent lurker on this fantastically nostalgic blog.

  14. A warm welcome to Ophelia! Glad you enjoy the blog, and hope for your active participation. Your Chin Han lookalike bro is an old and dear friend. And yes, he was pretty good looking as a young man. Must have had many admirers. Pity the boy was "shy" (or was he?) Hahaha.
