First Anniversary of Blog

Exactly one year ago, on 3rd January 2009, I created this "St Joe Form 5 (1976)" blog. It was based on the wild idea that after 33 years, all the boys of Form 5 (1976) could still be located. I hesitantly put in the first posting titled "Purpose of this Website", not sure if anyone would find it. It drew just four comments.

Gradually the visits increased and through word-of-mouth, more and more old Josephians from the Class of 76 and others came in. Now 250 postings and more than a thousand comments later, we have more than 150 unique visitors accessing on a normal day. And as you all know we had the "Mother of All Reunions" on 23 Dec and also broke the 100,000 visit mark on the blog before the end of 2009. All of you have been most sporting and came in with lots of comments, perspectives and memories ... it has been a wonderful journey.

So today, in humble gratitude and still slight amazement, I celebrate the blog's FIRST ANNIVERSARY and invite all of you to sample a piece of the virtual birthday cake.

Long live St Joe and its students, teachers and alumni.

Ora Et Labora ... let's work hard eating the cake and pray we will not have indigestion afterwards ... LOL

  3. Happy Anniversary to our blog and everyone! Don't think Pussytown makes anymore butter icing cake Kopi-Si. It's too sweet and everyone is switching to fresh cream icing nowadays. Maybe you can still request for a cake of your choice to be coated with butter icing.

  9. i am not very technology savvy so i ask a simple question. Are website information like what we put here going to be always available? Is there a chance our wonderful blog will one day be deleted?

  11. 250 postings in 365 days is not bad at all! Well done WJ. Will we have 300 postings in 2010?

  12. On the contrary. I'll be gradually decreasing the frequency of postings on this blog so that you guys won't get too sick of it.

However you can also check out my other blogs,
    eg. www.asian-observer.com
    sometimes.

  13. Special Thanks to NST for my first delivery of NST free subcription of papers for 1 year today from the Grand Reunion Lucky Draw.
I received a call from NST staff to ask whether I have received the papers and I told her that I had left the house and she said she will call me tomorrow to check. The local delivery agent also called me in the afternoon to double check whether he delivered the papers to the right address. Thanks to NST's lady staff and local agent for their efficiency, under the wing of their capable CEO,.....Being thoughtful the paper came wrapped nicely in a plastic bag so that it will not get wet..heheheh. so tonight no massage for me but staying at home to read NST, hee, hee.
