Turn up your speaker volume ... This is a beautiful and classic song by the Ray Conniff singers that's appropriate for this week, especially for those of us in and around Malaysia. May we never forget the words ...
Enjoy and do sing along ...

Most appropriate indeed, WJ.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite songs in 75 or 76 too! I still remember the album cover (vinyl LP of course)
ReplyDeleteYa, we need Harmony . And Tolerance. And Peace. Road signs to follow before we can ever get to 1Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, a very beautiful song indeed, Harmony, that's what we and the whole world needs now!
ReplyDeleteThere's another song WJ, 'Here Today and Gone Tomorrow'? Should have sung this song during our reunion dinner. I mean meeting everyone that day and next day we all go our separate ways again.
Gives me some very painful heartaches when listening to the two songs, sob, sob.
Ya loh, Norbert. There were a few classic songs that we should have asked Suhiri and Felix to play during that evening. Like the one you mentioned. Also some of the Lobo hits like "Stoney" and "How can I tell her about you". Also "Seasons in the Sun". Aiyooo, how could we have forgotten.
ReplyDeleteHave not heard the Ray Coniff (singers?) for a long, long time. Reminds me of a gentler period when we were less well off materially but spiritually (not necessarily in a religious sense) better off. Thanks WJ for the time warp.
ReplyDeleteI always liked the music of Ray Conniff Singers and also the band of James Last. Remember them?
ReplyDeleteWhat about the King's Singers? my introduction to a Capella music ... great stuff man.
ReplyDeleteMy first intro to a cappella was "Barber of Seville Overture" by the kings in 1982. I find it amusing. They have another good one in "Flight of the bumblebee"
ReplyDeleteJames and all, you should try watching this on youtube. Cheers
By the way, my fav singer is Sir Cliff Richard. The young ones...bachelor boy...summer holiday...
James, "Harmony" by Ray Coniff is appropriate esp at this quite tense moment. Blessings to all SJS who has shown what 1Malaysia should be...esp religious tolerance. Cheers!
hey Gerard, I like Cliff ... ahem Sir Cliff Richard too. Did you know that he and his original band The Shadows had a reunion performance in 2009? There's a CD and DVD out in the stores. Mainly old favourites with a couple of never recorded numbers.
ReplyDeleteLOL James, I am sure many Josephians in this forum love Cliff. Maybe we were born in that era. LOL
ReplyDeleteRight now I am listening to Sir Cliff's, Do you wanna dance, Fall in love, daddy home, donna, girl on the bus, living doll, ocean deep etc while browsing through the internet. haha...
I like his version of Israel Kamakawiwo Ole's "Somewhere over the rainbow/What a wonderful world". Beautiful!
Esok I mahu pergi cari the CD and DVD of the reunion performance in the stores liaw.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to pull WJ's ears if I can't find them in all the stores, haha.
