Hahaha! I'm so thankful that the photographer wasn't our very own WJ too, he would have 'pengsan' if it was him.
ReplyDeleteWalau! I dunno what to think or say!
ReplyDeleteWJ, everything's been tops to date but I don't think this post quite jives. My 2 cents. Sorry.
ReplyDeletelooks like Dick Chaney
ReplyDeleteI think it's sweet actually.
ReplyDeleteHey, George
ReplyDeleteYou took it the wrong way - you have to see the positive side of it.
That's life and reality of living. There's come a time where we have to wind down, retire, get old but be happy, content, thank god/allah or our ancestors that we can achive a milestone, free of serious illness and still mobile.
To me, this is a picture of health, happiness, long life, content & freedom.
"Think outside the box"
Let's hope when we get to that age, we'll be confident and comfortable enough with our bodies to let it all hang loose like these two.
ReplyDeleteGeorgie-boy, I read somewhere that something is considered ART if it can evoke different emotions and responses ... LOL
ReplyDeleteI am thankful not because the photographer wasn't
ReplyDeleteon the other side but because he/she has taken this candid and very touching picture that proudly depicts the love and affection which is still going strong despite old age.
Most of us must have been married for at least more than ten years now but are we still that deeply in love with our other half? Do we still have the latent passion to express our love to each other like the couple in the picture?
Not in public, of course.
Or God forbids, do we secretly let our fertile imagination venture into the realm of SYTs and sirens and conveniently use the "mid-life crisis"
syndrome as a lame excuse?
Truly envy them!
Truly envy them!
Great photo! My first impression was to laugh at the absurdity of two nude old people. Then as I looked some more, my feeling changed to being touched and even impressed. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteGetting Old
ReplyDeleteI don't remember getting old,
it should'nt happen yet.
I need to do some other things
that aren't decided yet.
Who said my joints should ache like this?
my eyesight's getting bad,
and when I hit the bedroom,
well, things are looking sad.
I'm fifty three, how can that be?
I'm really not that old.
my body doesn't understand
it won't do what it's told.
I tell it to run round the track
for seven laps or more.
I get to three, it answers me,
you're only getting four.
When I was in my prime you know.
I'd drink ten pints or more,
then rise the very next morning
and off to work I'd roar.
But now I have a glass of wine
and things start looking hazy
my body likes it best in bed
I never was that lazy.
At seventeen the big three O,
was what I used to fear
at twenty four I thought the door
to forty wasn't near.
At forty two the big five O
was looming at the double,
the big six O is next you know,
oh boy! Am I in trouble!
When God invites me for a chat
to find out where I'm going
I'll tell him, well, I don't want Hell
there's no one there I'm knowing,
I'll go to Heaven if that's OK.
and wait there with my hymn book,
till the missus gets herself up here
to teach the angels to cook.

This fine picture is a celebration of true and everlasting love.
ReplyDeleteWhen you look into the face of your spouse now, do you long for the much younger version that captured your heart some 10, 20 or even 30 years ago?
Don't.
Well done, WJ.
However, on a lighter note, it'd be quite interesting to see the other side of it. After all, we all will reach that stage one day. Nothing to be ashamed of.
I'm not old
ReplyDeleteI'm not old

I'm not old
I can understand why GL didn't like this post. A bit uncomfortable to realise that each year we are getting a bit closer to this era.
ReplyDeletemaybe the couple just forgot to put on their clothes...hehehe
ReplyDeletesuggest that a big reunion be held in 2034 when you all turn 75. and let's have it at bondi beach whereby all attendees are to emulate the couple. hopefully then, GL will see things in a different light.
ReplyDeleteWhy did I not like the pic? I am not a prude where nudity is concerned. But if I am one of that old couple, I would not want my picture to be posted on some stranger's blog on the internet for the world to see. If those 2 were my parents, I would not want their picture to be posted too [without their consent]. We don't know if those 2 even knew that their picture was taken, much less whether they agree to have it exhibited to the world. It's a privacy issue.
ReplyDeleteThese two old people are probably fully pledged nudists, so they posed in nude and which ever angle the photo was taken it will not have offended them. This photo was only shown as a decency not to offend anyone......
ReplyDeletethis was definitely a posed shot, and the two were professional models.
ReplyDeleteWJ, georgie-boy has a point, but i don't think privacy is a issue here. I think this photo is quite widespread in email on the Internet. one of those humour emails. is that where u got it from?
ReplyDelete'Nuff said. We agree to disagree - a matter of taste [or distaste?], although mine is clearly in the minority. :-)
ReplyDeleteI wonder what our 'Ta Ker' would say if he happened to see the photo, hopefully he won't.
ReplyDeleteIt's ok lah. Ta Ker got a sense of humour, what?
