Deep Purple in Concert

.
Did you guys remember DEEP PURPLE ?

For those whose memories need to be jogged, Deep Purple was this hard rock band formed in Hertford, UK in 1968. They are regarded as one of the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock. They also incorporated classical music, blues-rock, pop and progressive rock elements into some of their musical numbers. Once listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's loudest band, Deep Purple has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

The band have gone through many line-up changes and an eight-year hiatus (1976–84). The 1968–76 line-ups are commonly labeled Mark I, II, III and IV. Their second and most commercially successful line-up featured Ian Gillan (vocals), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Jon Lord (keyboards), Roger Glover (bass) and Ian Paice (drums). This line-up was active from 1969 to 1973 and was revived from 1984 to 1989 and again in 1993, before the rift between Blackmore and other members became unbridgeable. The current line-up has left Paice as the only original member to have never left the band.

Well guys, turn up your speakers to the very MAX ... and play this music video to reactivate those burning hot rocker attitudes you may have once possessed ... (better you find a quiet room and lock the door, in case you start jumping around and doing the air guitar thing!)

Wasn't that nice?

Now for the scoop ... do you know that Deep Purple is back on tour? Better still they will be performing in Perth on Wed 5 May, Singapore on Wed 12 May, Bangkok on Fri 14 May and in Genting, KL on Sun 16 May !!!! Anyone planning to go and rock the night away ?

Check out their Official Tour website.

  12. I was neither a Slade or a Deep Purple fan then as I wasn't that cool. It must be the other vintage Perth resident you are referring too.:-)

  13. I'm sure there are plenty of old rockers in Perth who like Deep Purple and Slade but this one is looking forward, not to a noisy Deep Purple concert, but to a nice and comfy rocking chair. Gotta act our age, man!

  14. Act our age? As far as I know, I'm fifty years young and so are most of you ...

  16. Not much publicity about the concert in Perth - I wonder what the attendance will be like.

BTW James, I knew that bit about acting our age would get a reaction from you.

  19. Well, I'll be square or oblong or elliptical.... I am not going to pay a handsome sum to watch some old farts prancing on stage. :-( They were good and I like to keep it that way. :-)

  20. The group must be broke already so they started to do some concerts again to make some money. I mean they were famous in the earlier years, why stop singing, then start again, than stop, than start again. Just don't understand them.
