Update from Website Jaga (July 2009)

Hi friends,

Just thought I'd share some information from my website monitoring tool.

Unique visitorwise, we are holding steady between 70-100 every day. Note however that the system considers a visit to be unique even if by the same person, if the time interval between consecutive visits exceeds 3 hours. If less than 3 hours, it's counted as the same visit.

Our visitors are spread all over the world, as can be seen by the next chart.

I'd like to urge those of you who still haven't done so to make your presence known at the ROLL CALL post (just click on it, or look under the June postings).
xx
Finally, please do continue to submit interesting photos, stories, info snippets and whatever else you think might be relevant to share on this website.
xx
Have a nice day, wherever you are.

  3. WJ, is it possible for the ROLL CALL post to remain on top of the latest post? This is ensure that it is not lost somewhere and ensure that all new visitors see it immediately when coming to this site.

  4. Leo, I haven't found a way to make ROLL CALL remain as a top post, but what I have done is enable the visitor to click on the words "ROLL CALL" within the above posting, to hyperlink directly.

  5. Yes, WJ, all you need to do is just repeat that for every new posting. The grammar could do with a bit of improvement though. All the pc programming at Cisco must have caused some havoc to your previously good English ... LOL

  6. What bad grammar are you talking about, Georgie boy? Must be your eyes again. LOL

  7. Hey, the last time I looked, the post read:

"I'd like to urge those of you have still haven't done so ..."

You cheated! Lucky I had the window still opened so could check on my eyesight ... not seeing things, mate.

  8. Hmmm, must be a self-correcting blog. A new feature from Cisco perhaps. LOL

  9. Old rivalries die hard, you two.

  10. You're too right, KC. When we first got back in touch at the beginning of this year [after some 30 years], Jimmy reminded me that I used to draw a comic called "The Iron Fist" and he [not to be outdone] started a comic called "The Deadly Kick" and our emails were [as he called it] "the Iron Fist meets the Deadly Kick again!".

"Self-correcting blog from Cisco", Jimmy? sheesh ... I may be technologically challenged but even I know there's no such thing .... erm, or is there? LOL.

  11. Iron Fist, Deadly Kick ... those were the days ... Wish I kept some of our amateur comics. Of course in the absence of the comics as physical evidence, in my memory DK kicked the ass of IF every time. LOL

Self-correcting wordprocessing is a reality George, and I'm not talking about Bill Gates' pathetic spell or grammar checking tools.

Nah, no rivalry KC. Just two old chums shooting the breeze.

  12. Yeah, right, James - no rivalry ... and pigs may yet fly!

  13. Good one, George. Play on words, eh? Reminds me of this little rhyme I read which was apparently popular during the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic:

    "I had a little bird
    Its name was Enza
    I opened the window
    And in-flew-enza".

I remember the comics. I thought they were pretty good for amateurs.

  14. I recall that Christopher Chew commissioned me to draw a comic for him. He paid me the princely sum of RM5. Had me dreaming that I might be a comic book artist one day. Unfortunately, that was the one and only comic I sold ... LOL.

Chris, if you're reading this and if you still have it, I will pay you RM500 to buy it back ... :-)

  15. WOW!!! If I had known our lawyer friend was going to buy back his comic creations at such a premium, I would have bought a whole bunch from him back then. RM500 after 35 years represents an annualised return of 14 percent .... or an absolute 10000 percent increase from the original price of RM5 ... much much better than any other investment vehicle !!!! This could have funded my retirement and more. LOL

  16. ROTF LMAO The only reason there is such a premium is because it is the only one, Mr Accountant. Law of supply and demand, lah. If there was "a whole bunch" of them, price would drop sharply.
