Another Mini-Gathering in Kuching

I was honoured when a group of old buddies waited till past 11pm at the Badger Bar, Sarawak Club after my flight from KK to Kuching was slightly delayed. It was so good to see the familiar faces again.

Lots of booze and bantering. Bob also entertained us with his musical renditions (hopefully a videoclip will be put up later). Norbert showed that he still remembered his "twist" dance movements.

Some of us later adjourned to the Open Air Market for supper.

More later ...

  4. Hey, guys

I am beginning to worry for some of you. Although it is so nice for some of you especially those in Kch/KL to meet up and usually over food and drinks (having said that it IS the Malaysians favourite past times or even hobby for some). All those wonderful food at these meetings, reunions, etc. How I do miss them too. Do be more conscious of your consumption - we are all not getting any younger nor our rate of burning up the carories any faster than before. I think some of the reunions should be to do with more healthy activities - meet up for badminton, ping pong, golf!!!! (I definitely know a few "pros" there), jogging, walks, etc. I know what some of you are thinking by now....probably losing a few pounds by now reading this "crap"...LOL.

Hey, I am not a kill joy, just caring for you in your indulgence in food. This is just only my thoughts here.

  7. Hi...all

I just thought I use the latest article to bring up another topic/subject. Apology to WJ.

Fun and games that we used to play:

Can you recall what games that you used to play during our school days. Especially us, SJS boys who were so out of touch with the girls (who tends to be more mature in many ways than us) and when we were in the close proximity with them (the gals!!! who elses) we somehow acted so differently and it somehow still do (proof from the current contributions in the blogs). I wonder if the gals reacted that way too....mmmmm?. Anyway coming back to the fun & games that we used to play - I can recall during a bus trip to Giam (cannot remember who organised it though) with our lovely gals from across the bridge, some of us played a passing of a rubber band on the tooth pick and had to pass it to the opposite sex. I think the idea behind it was to see how confident you were handling it and whether you dare to be as close as possible (almost cheek to cheek) without dropping the rubber band and holding your breath!!!. Hey, guys you can imagine what the game was like and what you had missed. It was good fun and I am sure some got more out of it. Good times and what an adventure!!!!. To those of you who only joined recently or did not come across, there is a photo on those who went on the Giam trip in the March blog. Btw, you can still play this game at the reunion, except that there will be no gals to pass the rubber band to.....hahahhahahahahahahahaha. Not too late to open up the invite to the gals???....lol

So what other games, can you recall during those good old school days? Do not be shy, lah, you can always hide behind as Anons.

  8. Hi John,

I don't think the boys will want to play passing the rubber band when there are no girls unless there are pole dancers!

Spirit of the ring used to a one time favourite amongst the girls..i will leave the questions the girls asked to your imaginations!

Chinese chess, scrabble, monopoly, rounders or "pak pau" (as AM calls it) were classic favourites not forgetting the 5 stones.

Climbing rambutan, buah chiku, guava trees to see who could pick the most numbers of fruits...and falling with the highest rambutan branch with at least 10 of the most juicest yellow rambutans and landing on my back and hitting the protruding roots..arrggghh! and savouring all the rambutans all to myself.

Also remembered joining the neighbourhood boys catch fish from the nearby longkangs and they also joined us in our make belief masak masak games. So lame!

  9. rounders and 'pak pau' is different.
we guys don't play rounders, but yes to 'pak pau'.
rounders considered less manly and lame. huh huh.
