You think that generations after generations, people of Malaysia will learn from it - so sad. Greed is the cause of evil deeds. If only Sarawakians (those in "power") are different.

    One can only hope......

Happy Merdeka or Selamat Hari Kebangsaan to all

  6. Why should we only hope when we are people who select the Gov't. Go out and make the change happen.

Notwithstanding its corruption, which happens practically all over the world, and other political and social malaise, Malaysia especially Kuching is still a very nice and comfortable place to live and die. You go to developed countries whether you admit it or not, you will be, more often than not, treated as second class citizens by the mat salleh, japs or singaporeans, inadvertently or otherwise. Other Asean countries, India, Pakistan or even China? i don't think so.
Feeling discriminated and unfairly treated? Ask yourselves, deep down inside you, do you look down on them or not? Why?
Happy Merdeka Day and count our blessings as the sons and daughters of Ma-lay-si-a.

  8. Yes, Kuching is still a very nice place to live. We should keep it that way.

  9. Isn't it amazing that the Federation of Malaysia is only just a bit older than any of us? For it's youth, it is doing remarkably well. There is cause for celebration. And Kuching has to be the best city in the country.

Kuching ( also Miri, Bintulu and Sibu )will be even much better and safer if the authority can root out the Chinese taikos and their pawns
who control public auctions, shamelessly demand
for "protection" fee from pubs and taverns owners, blatantly smuggle timber and whatever
goods on earth you can think of and openly promote prostitution just like the olden days of Shanghai Than.
But then again, it looks like some staff of
the relevant authority are surreptitiouly in cahoots with them.
To make matters worse, there are hordes of brazen criminals and snatch thieves from a neighbouring country who make a killing here.
    What a damper!

  13. 16th September, Malaysia or Malaya joined Sarawak and NOT Sarawak join Malaya.

Lots of people said Sarawak join Malaysia on 16th Sept., 1963.
