  5. Hi guys...if there's ever a need to exemplify the OneMsia concept, St. Joseph's School would be one, if not the forerunner of such awards.
We have Muslims, Christians, Buddhists,Pagans - Chinese, Indians, Malays, Dayaks ( that includes Land, Sea & Air ) and others...coming together for a common purpose..without race or religion being an issue at all.
And we even have Muslims taking Bible knowledge as an examination subject...and scoring distictions in the process !!! ( correct me if I'm wrong ) Even a former Muslim classmate confessed to me that he even attended 1st Friday masses - to look at St. Teresa girls !!!
That's how we looked at things..and we even carried it into our working life - seeing people for their virtues rather than their individual beliefs which may differ from ours.
    "Unity in Diversity"
    That's great..for nation building.
Keep it up and Cheers !!!!

  6. Edmund Lee,

Lu cakap manyak mutut lah.. Our PM is late and behind nus when it comes to 1Malaysia.

We never have problems before. I don't understand the big hoohah that we have in Malaya. That's why PM refered to S'wak & Sabah as a living example of 1Malsyaia.

As for me personally, I was the best man for my muslim best friend during his wedding, no issue with that, man.

Keep up the 1Malaysia spirit thru this blog !!.

    Cheers,
    Sinos

  14. Robert

We were the king of rounders in Catholic English Primary School. Also the game of 'bakpau' or something? I still have the scars on my knees to show. Sister Eulelia would dress the scrapped knees and elbows.

I remember learning to curse in hokkien when I was in primary school. I think my guru was kho khoon how.hehe.

There were two indian boys in our class..Suvendren and kumar.

There was also this pretty girl in our class whose family operated the canteen...Annie Wong or something if I am not mistaken.

What was the original school uniform before we switched to blue pants and white shirts?

Can anyone trace Khoon How and get him on the blog?

  15. Edmund(Still trying to get use to Lee Ah See's glamour name la); I took bible knowledge or scripture as it was called then. Scored distinction A1 oh...to help bring the units down and improved the overall results.

At night still went to study agama la.Bakri Zaini went to the same agama cikgu then.Compulsory otherwise my grandmother would rotan us. So okay la...I think we ended up very respectful of each other's religious beliefs.

  16. Khoon How knows about the blog and came in before. He has some difficulty accessing sometimes as he is based in Shanghai, and apparently there's some Great Firewall of China that causes some problems.

Anyway, Dato' A, I have given him your mobile no, so don't be surprised if your Hokkien guru calls u soon ;-)

Apology for not inviting you guys for the Raya thingy, for my home was openned 24/7.Unlike Datuk AM, my Raya was low budget and turning up at my door unsolicited uninvited was like answering my prayers, for my Raya has always been for gatecrashers.

So henceforth you guys are invited to my place for the next Raya and the many Rayas to come .

    Thanks BobRobBen for dropping by
