Gone Fishing (Part 3)

Here's a series of photos from our buddy Lipp Kee, now living in Canada.

I don't know the details but I believe this was on a recent fishing trip that he made with his colleagues. Hey, Lipp Kee, I'll have to let you share with the rest exactly what you were up to & where you were ...

Whatever it is, it looks like fun.

Photo (1) : Your yacht, Mr Chieh?

Photo (2) : Nice picture, from this twin engine craft

Photo (3) : What a big plate of "curry fish head" this would make!

Photo (4) : Aye aye, captain!

Photo (5) : Stop being so crabby

Photo (6) : Look at this big one I caught

Photo (7) : Another one for dinner

Photo (8) : Look what my crab net brought in

Thanks for sharing the photos, CLK. Now tell us all what we missed ...

  6. There were no Korean Fish, nor Bikini Babes on board... :)
It was around Northern Vancouver Island,BC.
It is called Chinook or King or Spring Salmon...21.5 lbs, this one.I wish I could have it as sashimi. But because I could not deep freeze it to kill off the parasites and eggs, curry fish head was the way to go LOH!
The twin engines can get the boat to as fast as 40 knots (74 kmph), no worries.

  8. Now that you have seen the fishing in Canada, does anyone know of a good fishing trip for family that i can do in August when i come back?
That can be combined in staying at a certain resort for a few days.

    Thanks

  11. Wow! CLK. Amazing fishing trip. Very envious. May I suggest we have a class reunion in Canada and CLK can take us all fishing in his big twin engine beast.

  13. Hi JK, hows the fishing at your kampung in the UK?

  14. I presume fishing can be pretty good in Plymouth if I have a boat like our tow kay friend (CLK). So far only ever tried catching a few miserable small mackerel (poor man fishing). Fishing brings back a lot of fond memories of our classmate, Andrew Kang. Andrew took me on a number of fishing trips during my year in Melbourne (1989). We would hire a boat and fish at Port Philip Bay hoping to land a few gigantic snappers but we always end up with FLATHEADS. Arrrghhhh. However, we had such a lot of fun together. Pity I didn't catch up with our Lawyer friend, GL, while I was there. Apparently, he is also a keen fisherman, so he claims.

  15. GL ... fisherman back then? I wonder what fish he was after? hehehe

  16. Huh? GL fisherman back then? That's surprising. Could he be fishing for a 'two legged fish' then?

  17. Ha ha. Very funny, guys. I was a mad keen angler when I was studying in Melbourne. But could not afford to go out in a nice boat like CLK. So I just fished from the jetties around Port Philip Bay.

At that time, Andrew had no interest in fishing so I had to fish alone. Used to go down to the jetty at sunset and fished by myself until 2 or 3am. Even went in winter when the temp was about 8 degrees. It was freezing!

Andrew got interested in fishing after I left Melbourne. So we never had the chance to fish together.

Yeah, did a bit of two-legged fishing in Melbourne too - but that's another story altogether ;-)
