The recent mini-reunions in Kuching and Siem Reap reintroduced us to a number of individuals who were in the Form 6 Arts class of 1978.
Now we have a copy of the class photo, kindly contributed by Edmund Lee Ah See.
I've zoomed in on the different sections so you can see the faces more clearly ...
Can someone name the boys & girls?
Goodness, is that really Tuan Sinos in middle row, 2nd from right?
ReplyDeleteHi Folks,
ReplyDeleteIt's me, Bertram Chew. My brother Vernon, told me about his site and after reading and seeing many of the familiar faces I am just amazed. It's like a walk down memory lane and I feel as I have been propelled back in time and reliving some of the careless age of our youth. Well, you guys have done it..ie., happily reached middle age and getting prosperous for it.
I live in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada with my wife and son. An accountant by profession, I work as a Tax Director in a life insurance company. Have been 21 years and still don't like the cold.
Kudos to James Yong for this wonderful site and I will stay in touch.
Cheers, Bertram
Hiya Bertram, welcome to the site!!! Good to hear from you. Send in a photo of you now. We'd all love to see a "Then & Now" on you. BTW, what's your email?
ReplyDeleteI have sent you a photo via yr hotmail. Just a few extra grey hairs..
ReplyDeletebertram

ReplyDeleteHey Bertram - good to see you here. Is the missus anyone we know? If so, you should get her to join in.
ReplyDeleteHello Julai, there was only one Science and one Arts class in Form 6 - probably two of the smallest Form 6 classes at St Joe.

My wife is from Ipoh, west msia..so unlikely you know her. We met when I was studying in KL after form 6.

ReplyDeleteDear WJ & Lee Ah See,
ReplyDeleteBcoz of Tuan Jaga Website, the Creator, F5 boys of 76 managed to reconnect and also thru this, the Upper 6, 1978 hopefully, one fine day could have a reunion too.
Yes,I agree some of us looks way different but I got to blame the weather on that fine morning in 1978 and also the photographer who was in hurry. He could have waited for all of us to at least pose a bit, mah..
Lee Ah See, this pix is a gem , man. I have lost mine. Some of the boys if I remember well, apart from the 2 Datuks ( Justin Jinggut & Anthony Bujang MacPherson, are Jutiam, Hipni Sulaiman, Basil Dimbu, Mula Uggat,Png Thiam Chai, Ah Chng,Phang Miaw Fah,Kho Chin Seng,Abg. Zainoren,Sim Khee How, Mustpaha Affendi.
If anyone of you guys/girls who read this & former 6 uppers in 1978, perhaps we could hava reunion in KCH soon. What say you Dtk. Anthony & Dtk Justin? Eliane Akau used to stay around the same area with me before ( Kenyalang Park).
Lucy Andar, r u still with RHB? Magaret Munjan & all the other ladies ex-classmates, where are you all now?
Plse do keep in touch & reconnect too.
Bon weekend,
Sinos,
Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Not bad la you Sinos. U remember all the girls names..hehehe. I would love to join another reunion in Kuching. The last time I wanted to attend a reunion in kuching I ended up stranded in the plane and KLIA for 4 hours cos of technical problem. But yes..lets organise one soon. What about around Christmas this year?
ReplyDeleteAnthony Macpherson
Magaret Munjan is in Bali la,, why Sinos, u want to contact her ka? Let me know k. will try to get her into our blog la.
ReplyDeleteDear All,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that this photo triggered so many responses...especially from some "long-time-no-see" friends....( worth every second of the time and every ounce of the effort !! )
Bertram....what a surprise ! We have a lot of catching up to do. Tons of stories that can fill volumes...Too lengthy and detailed to be recorded on this blog. Please give me a tinkle when you are in Kuching. Johnny Pope misses you too !!
And Anthony MacPherson..( now Dato'..or Datu" or Datuk ?) the big corporate guy ( CEO of NST, I was told )....nice to hear from you too. Anthony's a great friend...despite his hectic schedule...he made time for us and showed us around TV3..he was the CEO then..never too busy for his "old" friends...that was 3 years ago..when a few of us were in KL..Thanks Tony for the hospitality. Those of you who were feted by Batholomew Sinos would understand what I mean by "hospitality" - and it has nothing to do with Hospitals !!!
One question, though. Norbert has graciouly disclosed Margaret's whereabouts. Now...does anyone know where's Zahrah Ngeh...the pretty lady sitting next to Bertram ?
Till then..Cheers & keep the comments flowing.
Took me a while to figure out that Edmund and Lee Ah See are one and the same..well, I know you better as Ah See or Tun Lee. For sure i'll look you and Johnny Pok up in Kch plus all the form 5yers I can find when I'm back in Kch...
ReplyDeleteAs for Macpherson, that's nice to hear you're a big man in KL...I hope you have a big expense account coz when I'm in KL I'm also looking you up and will expect lu punya chauffer to pick me up at the airport.
BChew
I'm informed that Margaret Munjan Pitman is on Facebook, for any of her former classmates who want to contact her.
