Traditions must be kept alive!
ReplyDeleteHi Nick & all,
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the greetings & wishes. Yes, traditions & culture should be kept alive but the pressure of modern times & cultures are hard to resist.
Thanks to the people & organizations who are trying hard to maintain & upkeep the old traditions & cultures too.
The baruk ( round house) that my folks built were the replica of the original but of course can't be exactly the same as the original baruk.
The gong sets were purchased lomg time ago from the remote villages near the Indon border. But of course the young pretty dancers are not "antique" lah...heehee!!
Bonne weekend to all !!
where there's ah loot, there sure to be a pretty maiden in tow.
ReplyDeleteoh dear, it's really ah loot again,
ReplyDeleteeager in tow with him a pretty maiden,
first spotted in his ancestors' motherland,
now resurfaced deep in our hinterland,
makes me indeed a very jealous man!
Happy Gawai day! Happy colours to celebrate tradition.
ReplyDeleteHiya, missed all the fun again la, never mind, next year we all go up to Seratau, charter a big bus if we have to and turn Sinos kampung upside down.
ReplyDeleteSorry Ah Loot for not able to be at your side to introduce you to all the lovely maidens. w
Will do it next year kay
