Motorcycle Mavericks (Part 3)

.
Our man in Cambodia sent me these pictures a few days ago. Tuan Sinos wants to share the joy of his new arrival with all ...

Soooooo ... presenting his recently acquired lean, mean Honda VTX1300C bike ( 1300 cc) !!!!

He went for a test ride to Battambang, the 2nd biggest city in Cambodia, about 280 KM from Siem Reap. Here are some of the scenes ...

Fierce looking, man!

Tengok pun takut sedikit lah!

And they're off ......

I'm sure our motorcycle fans and speed fiends will have lots of comments ...

  2. Dear motor cycle fans & friends,

Thanks. Yes, the ultimate bike wish for me is a HD but too mahal & susah mahu jaga & maintain here. No qualified mechanic, spare parts got to be ordered from US and most of all, the weather here is helping to "koyak" the HD.

Maybe Wilson Chou, Robert Chin, Mike Yeo & Dtk JJ would consider to ride up to Cambodia from M'sia? Give it a thought OK?

We are having 3 days holiday here and a perfect time to test the VTX further lagi jauh.

    Bonne weekend !!

Norbert, no worry about kalah or menang one.. I am sure your bike is equally good, if not better. Robert Chin, I have yet to see your classic AJS or BSA? Promise me that you will show it to me when I am back OK?

No pix of me riding down te road, the photographer could keep with us lah. John Lee, I a sure in England there are countless big, powerful & beautiful bikes, right?

  8. Hey, bro Sinos.

Certainly there are countless of big machines here and the roads here do cater for them and what's more there are various bike clubs that you can join and be part of and go on the members' organised journeys.

In fact I am thinking of getting a bike but in a opposite end - a small electric one. The reason is the cost of fuel and it's zero carbon emmision, mainly for communting to and from work and short journeys. The average cost of fuel here is about £1.20 for unleaded and £1.22 for diesel per litre with high road tax, insurance and high maintenance cost too. I also recently got myself a bicycle too and that was quite fun to ride it as I had not ride on one since school days!!!.

  10. Bro.Anon.,

Thanks and yes, I still love cycling during weekends & the many public holidays here. Mountain bike & our famous racing bike but no "Raleigh" or Carlton anymore.

Yes, I recall with great joy the trip we made to Serian in the early 70s with Felix Lim, Jude Jong, Ben Wong & few others that I can't recall. they slept at the Catholic Center ands went to my house at Jln.Kereta Api and we cycled as early as 4.00 am. Arrived Ranchang Pool, Serian, swam a bit and cycled back again to KCH. Man, those were the days, when we had some much stamina & guts. Try cycling to Serian now? Heehhee!!

Thanks & Ride On, bro !!

  18. Norbert, I'm not sure I got the photo you mentioned.

  19. Norbert, I have been using Honda Cub 90cc for the past 30 years. Can't afford to spend money on big bikes...hmmm...wonder how much one cost. When are you ETA Sibu? Give me a call, bro. Cheers

    ReplyDelete
  20. Photos of the big bikes at the Trade Center should be in the disc or maybe Ben didn't include the snapshots for you, WJ. Tak apa la.

Not very sure yet Gerard, think maybe on 28th afternoon ETA in Sibu, i.e. if we tolak from Kuching at 8am or 9am. Heard it takes at least 5 hours to reach? Will be spending a night in Sibu, want to try out the original 'kan pua mee' there.

  21. Will sure give you a call brother, maybe can meet up with Simon Heng too? If he's not too busy of course.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Norbert, can't punish Simon. He will only 'lau-nua' looking at us eating. LOL... He is a vegetarian. I am sure Simon is busy with 'cari makan' (taxi driver) during the day. Anyway, he probably be free during the night.

There are five famous Foochow delicacies as follow:

    1. Kam-pua mien (similar to kolok mee)
    2. Chow-Chai Hung Ang (big bee hoon)
    3. Kom-piang (foochow burger)
    4. Tien-piang-ngu (made from rice flour)
    5. Chicken Mee Sua (long life noodle)

I understand Nicholas Lau is in Sibu. I don't know him personally but I have heard about him. Famous for his sprint and rugby. In fact I saw him ran once in the SAAA sports meet or the inter school meet. He was good in the 200m. I think he got first in that competition with a time of 22.8sec.

    Norbert, we will meet. Cheers

Any others in Sibu Gerard? Maybe can have a mini gathering on 28th night?
