Wee Ek Hock Reconnected !!!

It was such a pleasant surprise last week when I received an email from none other than Wee Ek Hock. I haven't met him for about fifteen years. He chanced across this blog after reading the Borneo Post Online article ! (Good work again, Georgie boy!)

I learnt that our friend moved to Auckland, New Zealand about 6.5 years ago,  after some years of doing business in Sarawak. He seems to enjoy the life in NZ, and is now with an American firm called Ramset.

He has three girls aged 23,21 and 13.The eldest two are in university.while the youngest is in high school. His wife, an Operating Theater nurse, works at a local private hospital in NZ. She was previously with Normah Medical Centre in Kuching.

Here is a recent photo of Ek Hock and wife ...

Ek Hock asked me to convey this heart-warming message: "send my regards to everyone who still remembers me and tell them no hard feelings, what is done cannot be undone so we move on and still be friends".

His email is wehjj@xtra.co.nz and he would certainly love to get in contact with old buddies.

Glad to be reconnected, old friend !

NZ Times

Many of our friends spent a number of years studying and working in New Zealand back in the 70s and 80s. Let's see how many you recognise in the photograph below (courtesy of LC).

If anyone has stories and memories from those youthful Kiwi days, do share them ... If any are in possession of photographs from NZ (or Australia or other country) you may have spent your early years in, do send them in to me (jslyong@hotmail.com) and I'll add them to the post.
