Form 3C (1974) class photo resurfaces

Someone once said "ask and you shall be given, seek and you shall find ...".

And that's exactly what has happened to the long-lost class photo of Form 3C (1974). We have already featured the classes of 3A and 3B ... You asked for 3C, and here it is !!!

We have this gem of a photo thanks to our buddy Roberto ! RC also sent me the names of all the class members, but I reckon it'll be more fun for you to dig deep into your foggy memories and try to remember all these handsome young chaps and their form teacher ...

Over to you guys.

Were you in Form 3B in 1974 ?

Here's another snapshot, retrieved and dusted from the old album of John Lee ...

Was it your class? What was the name of the teacher? Any memories to share?

The Mother of All Reunions - Part 1 (School Visit)

On the morning of 23 Dec 2009, a group of boys mostly from the Class of 76 paid a visit to our alma mater, St Joseph's. At 10am, we met at the main building, and from there made our way to various areas of interest within the school. Not even the light drizzle could dampen our spirits.

Here were the early birds ...
"Isn't the sign above somewhat appropriate?"

Sinos and Ben joined soon after ...
"What happened to your foot, Mr Cambodia?"

In front of the Form 4 & 5 block

We even re-lived our classroom days ...
"Koon Teck, no talking! Please pay attention!"
"Ngee Hong, don't tilt your desk!"

To be honest, we were a bit taken aback at the condition of some of the classrooms. But rather than simply whine about how much better the classrooms looked during our time, we actually want to do something tangible to help the situation. More on this in a later posting ...

Memories of the School Hall (Datuk William Tan Auditorium)
On a future post, I'll show the various lists of names engraved on the boards.

Remember where we had many school assemblies ?

Of course, we had to take a group shot in front of "The LOVE Bridge"

Checking out the School Canteen
(No mee goreng or laksa today unfortunately)

Checking out the school fields
(and some recalling their athletic prowess in their yesteryears)

What visit to St Joe is complete without stopping at the Toilet Block?

You guys abroad must be dying to see what the toilet looks like now .... believe it or not, it looks pretty clean and doesn't even smell ... of course, being holiday time may have something to do with that!

Moving on to the Basketball Courts
(This looks like the showdown before a fight ... ;-)

A couple of final group shots before we left the school compound ...

Next stop, the new St Mike's Canteen !

Form 6 Arts (1978) class photo

The recent mini-reunions in Kuching and Siem Reap reintroduced us to a number of individuals who were in the Form 6 Arts class of 1978.

Now we have a copy of the class photo, kindly contributed by Edmund Lee Ah See.

I've zoomed in on the different sections so you can see the faces more clearly ...

Can someone name the boys & girls?

Upper 6 Science (1978)

Here's the class photo of some of our friends in their final year at St Joe.

Thanks to KC for contributing this ...

Ahh, so many familiar faces ... What? Only four roses among the 22 thorns?

And I see that old "Ah Chui" was the Form Master.

Here are some zooms ...

Form 5 Sc (1976) class photo ... located !!!

I've been hunting for this photo for quite a while. Finally it has been located in the storage box of our friend PC (thanks Pip!) in KL ... So here's a much clearer picture of those dashing young lads from the Form 5 Science class of 1976.

xx

The close-up shots are taken with a super-duper mind-reading camera that reveals the deepest inner thoughts of some of the lads at the moment the shot was taken ...

... and now a SPECIAL BONUS - the other side of the photo, adorned with 33 year old signatures. Can you find your own ?xx

Enjoy the wonderful memories ...

To All the Girls We've Loved Before - Part #1

It's strange but quite nice that I've recently received a number of class photos from STS and other schools ... from classes from years around 1976. Separately I've also received an overwhelming number of requests from the guys to post up more ladies photos from the 70s.

So I've been mulling over what theme (or excuse!) to post up these pictures. Hope you agree that the title of the posting says it all. Hubbies and partners, don't be irate, as "loved" simply refers to "admired" (often from a distance too, sadly). This will be the beginning of a new series, so long as I continue to receive such photos, and not get a legal restraining order (in the case of the latter situation, I'm sure I can consult my good lawyer GL for the next course of action :-)

So here's the first one ... I believe it is STS Form 5 (1977), although I need someone to confirm which exactly class it is (Science, Arts etc).

Apologies for the damaged parts of the photo ... that was how I received it. Obviously the sweetness of the ladies has attracted the white ants too. So at least three faces are somewhat unrecognizable.

If there are any ladies from this class, or who know the folks in the class, we'd be delighted to have your comments & your active participation in this blog.

Another Form 5Sc class of 1976

Here's another photographic gem ... St Teresa's School, Form 5Sc class of 1976.

Take a close look. Who can recognise? Do you know where the ladies are now? Have you been in touch with anyone?

Form 5Sc, St Teresa's School, 1976

At the request of some of you - obviously those with failing eyesight - I've given this photo the same treatment of expanding into left, middle & right sections. This will hopefully allow you to see the faces better, and hopefully jog those fading memories.

If you'd like a clearer view of the entire photo, you'll need to download the file onto your PC, then view it in a larger format.

Enjoy ...

I'm sure you'll agree that here are the three most important pages from the St Joseph's Secondary School magazine "Ad Astra" in the year 1976 :-)
